DIB Roadmap

A key strategy for the DIB platform is to develop capabilities that has potential in many domains, which will expand functionality more quickly and will lower the price since more users that can utilize the same set of functionalities. E.g. currently we see the industrial sector and the health sector have a lot of commonalities which can be utilised.

Table 1. DIB Road map
2020-2022
Interactive SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) Interactive svg for keying in values will be expanded and easier to integrate. First version of this was made for Sahva.
Fully Engineered Jobcards Often organisations have made huge amount of investment in creating content. If this is available in XML a functionality will allow a service technician to have documentation within the same app for a specific job. We have already made the first prototypes of this in relation to aviation, but it needs to be fully implemented. The challenge is often that content outlast technology. If we change technology in DIB we shall continue to be able to use older content. Also, DIB will provide solutions for integrating parts and consumables more efficiently than what is possible today.
In App User Interface The DIB-team feel that based upon HTML5 capabilities it will be a continuous task to utilize these possibilities and make them available in the DIB mobile applications.
Reference Designation Systems RDS (Reference Designation System) - Today DIB already has RDS as an integrated part of the platform, however, it is important to extend that regardless it use of standards like ISO or VGB or S1000D. We plan to support VGB T32 in 2020 and ISO 81346-10 in 2021. However priorities can change here depending upon movements in the marked.
Augmented Reality Augmented reality - DIB is based upon core technologies like HTML5, JSON and XML, and it seems those technologies will continue to standards the foreseeable future. Also we start to see HTML5 to move into 3D why it will be natural to find ways on how augmented reality could be a natural part of the DIB platform.
Voice Enabling Voice enabling capabilities is becoming a standar commodity why it becomes natural for DIB to integrate Google assistant into the mobile DIB platform.
MCL and AI MCL (Machine Learning) and AI (Artificial intelligence) - We will start to integrate MCL algoritmes into the Warroom so it becomes possible to expand the Warroom capabilities with MCL and AI.
Google Glass 2 Google Glass 2 - DIB had ealier an integration to Google Glass 1, but after Google discontinued this version DIB did the same. However, recently Google Glass 2 has arrived and it seems natural to start that integration again.
Bluetooth In 2020, it will be possible to integrate devices using Bluetooth with the DIB mobile platform. We are seeing a bigger demand of this due to IoT. It could be used for tool integration in maintenance organisations as well as medical devices apllications.
Integration / REST Expand REST API/Integration to backend systems. We will expand the REST API for improved integration between DIB and other server solutions
Notifications The calling system we have developed for Care-Call which is in full production is now being extended using notifications for mission critical systems. We are looking into how this can exploited in other areas.
